The OW-SERVER-ENET-2 is designed to provide an efficient means to monitor and control 1-Wire devices over Ethernet networks. To achieve this goal, a straightforward user interface was developed to present of real-time sensor data and provide a means to configure OW-SERVER and attached sensors for application specific needs. This UI provides a general overview of the sensor data consisting of ROM Id, Device Type, Temperature Readings of each sensor, a graph of all the sensors with the user selected value and a "Download" button for exporting the graph's data in a CSV format. More detailed information for each 1-Wire device such as alarm thresholds, pulse counts, & relay states is provided on each device's dedicated page. The OW-SERVER provides a number of ways to programmatically monitor and control the attached 1-Wire devices. These approaches provide developers the necessary functionality to avoid issues which arise in creating a networked monitoring solution. HTTP GET - Using these options is ideal for applications where the device reading information will be operating on the LAN/WLAN as the OW-SERVER. The full sensor data is available in a details.XML file. For resource limited devices, we also allow for specific sensor or attribute tags to be polled in either a CSV or XML format. HTTP POST - This feature enables the OW-SERVER to transmit the details.XML to user specified URL & transmission rate. The sensor data provided may also be reduced for resource limited devices. This is ideal in applications where the OW-SERVER will be on a different LAN/WLAN than the software/hardware receiving the data. SNMP - This feature enables many networking monitoring software packages which support SNMP to read the OW-SERVER's sensors without any special plugin development. It is ideal for IT administrators wanting to monitor server room conditions. Supported 1-Wire devices include DS18B20, DS2406, DS2450, OW-ENV Sensor Line and many other EDS 1-Wire Sensors.
